An International Trade Advisor based in Brussels and Bologna, Laura holds a PhD in International Economic Law from Milan’s Bocconi University.
She has been advising, since 2003, on international trade and customs law, including excise duties, as well as export controls (dual-use goods and arms trade) and embargoes.
She has expertise in applications to the European Ombudsman and in customs infringement proceedings, as well as in informal consultations with the European Commission to resolve problems of market access in non-EU countries.
She has been involved in advocacy in negotiations on customs classification within the Customs Organisation and represented the European Confederation of Customs Agents (CONFIAD) in discussions with the European Commission and member states on amendments to the European customs regime. In the past, she was engaged in technical assistance activities funded by the European Commission to support developing countries in Central and South America in negotiating free trade agreements with the European Union.
She teaches her specialist subject matter at the Master MEMIT programme of Bocconi University and at SDA Bocconi, and also at the Master in Laws in International Trade Law ITCILO programme – University of Turin.
